Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development-PILDAT released an independent nation-wide Pre-Election Public Opinion Survey in a press conference on Friday October 04, 2002 at the Avari Hotel, Lahore.
The survey was carried out by PILDAT, in association with GALLUP Pakistan and Mr. Bilal Hassan Khan.
The press conference was followed by a roundtable discussion in which a select group of political leaders, intellectuals, opinion leaders and civil society representatives were invited to debate and share their views on the results of Pre-Election Public Opinion Survey. The discussants at the roundtable included Mr. Irshad Ahmed Haqqani, resident editor Daily Jang; Mr. Atta-ur-Rehman, editor current affairs, daily Pakistan; Mr. S.M Zafar, renowned Lawyer; Mr. Khliq-ur-Rehman, MAP; Dr. Hassan Askari Rizvi, renowned political scientist; Dr. Ijaz Shafi Gillani, Chairman Gallup Pakistan; Mr. Bilal Hasan Khan, pollster; Mr. Shafqat Mehmood, former senator and provincial minister; Ms. Samia Jamil, head of mass communications dept, Kinnaird College, etc. amongst others.
