Polling Station Data Analysis of 2018 General Elections

The data provides interesting insights into the popularity of political parties in polling stations across the four provinces in the 2018 elections.

    • In Punjab, Pakistan Muslim League (N) were the leading political parties in 42% of polling stations.
    • Polling stations in rural Punjab show a lead for Pakistan Muslim League (N) over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) by a small margin.
    • In Sindh, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) led in nearly 50% polling stations, followed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
    • Compared to Urban Sindh, rural Sindh shows a greater popularity for Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), with a lead in nearly 70% polling stations.
    • In the province of KPK, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was the leading political party with a winning number of votes in 7,474 (57% ) polling stations.
    • In both rural and urban KPK, Tehreek-e-Insaf led Muttahida Majlis–e–Amal (MMA) with a wide margin.
    • Pakistan Muslim League (N) had a winning number of votes in only 10% polling stations in KPK. In comparison with Punjab, this shows a strong contrast in the popularity of the party in KPK.
    • With a winning number of votes in 21% polling stations in Balochistan, Muttahida Majlis–e–Amal (MMA) had a slight lead over Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).
