More than half Pakistanis had heard about the regional elections in Gilgit Baltistan and 77% believe that they were transparent.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 53% of the respondents had heard about the regional elections in Gilgit Baltistan. Of those who knew about the elections, 38% believed that they were very transparent and 39% said that they were somewhat transparent.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, “Recently there were regional elections in Gilgit Baltistan where Pakistan Muslim League (N) gained victory. Have you heard/read anything about this?” In response to this question, 53% said yes, 46% said no and 1% did not respond.

Respondents who had said yes were further asked, “In your opinion, to what extent were the recent elections in Gilgit Baltistan transparent and fair?” 38% of the respondents said that they were very transparent, 39% said that they were somewhat transparent, 13% said that they were very little transparent and 10% said that they were not transparent at all.
