According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 16% Pakistanis said the candidate they voted for in National Assembly belongs to their community.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked. Does the candidate you voted for in National Assembly belong to your community or some other community? Responding to this, 16% said my community, 54% said some other community, 28% said we do not have a particular community and 1% said others. However, 1% did not give a response.
This question was also asked in February 2008, when 13% said my community, 52% said some other community and 32% said we do not have a particular community. However, 2% did not give a response.
