At the start of the election year, 83% of eligible voters claim they are registered to vote; 13% think they are not; 4% are unaware. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan at the start of the election year, 83% of eligible voters claim they are registered to vote; 13% think they are not; 4% are unaware. The claimed figure in a survey conducted a few months ago was slightly higher than this at 90%. Apparently as interest in voter lists rises, awareness about registration might become more precise.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked. Is your name present in the voter list at the moment, meaning are you registered voter or not? Responding to this 83% claim to be registered voters whereas 13% claim they are not registered. However 4% did not give a view.
