According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 25% Pakistanis think there is a very high threat of riots/breakdown of law and order in their constituency on Election Day.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked. In your opinion, in your constituency where you vote, is there a threat of riots on Election Day? Responding to this, 25% said very high threat, 32% said somewhat of a threat and 42% said no threat at all. However, 1% did not give a response.
A comparison between localities shows that more urban respondents believe there is a very high threat (30%) compared to rural respondents (22%). Comparing between provinces shows that respondents in Baluchistan are most worried about riots on Election Day (53%), followed by KPK (34%), Sindh (27%) and Punjab (20%).
