Pakistan ranks 89th across 128 countries in the world on transfer of power being subject to law. (World Justice Project and Gallup & Gilani Pakistan)

According to a World Justice Project (WJP) Survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan, Pakistan ranks 89 among 128 countries surveyed in the world on transfer of power being subject to law.

The global survey results are based on sub-Factor 1.6 of the WJP Constraints on Government Power Index which measures whether government officials are elected or appointed in accordance with the rules and procedures set forth in the constitution. Where elections take place, it also measures the integrity of the electoral process, including access to the ballot, the absence of intimidation, and public scrutiny of election results.

Pakistan vs. Neighbouring/ South Asian Countries: On this index, India ranks much higher than Pakistan at 40, while the rest of the countries rank much lower, with Iran at 102nd, China at 125th and Bangladesh at 119th.

Pakistan vs. Developed: Denmark ranks 1st on this index, followed by UK at 20th and US at 48th.
