54% Pakistanis believe there will be no change in Pakistan-India relations after the new government takes power in India.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 54% Pakistanis believe there will be no change in Pakistan-India relations after the new government takes power in India. The poll was conducted after elections but before BJP formed government.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, Recently, elections were held in India in which BJP’s candidate Narendra Modi won and soon will become the Prime Minister of India. Have you heard/read anything about this? 63% of the respondents had heard or read about the elections in India while 36% had not. 1% of the respondents did not respond.

Furthermore, respondents were asked, Will the relations between Pak- India improve, worsen or will there be no change after the new government in India comes to power? Responding to this, 21% said relations will improve while 23% said they will worsen. 54% said there will be no change and 2% people did not respond.
