According to a World Values Survey conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan in 2018, 62% Pakistanis claim that TV News often favors the governing party in Pakistan’s elections.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “How often does TV News favor the governing party polls in Pakistan’s elections?” In response to this question, 34% said ‘very often, 28% said ‘fairly often’, 18% said ‘not often’, 12% said ‘not at all often’. 8% did not know/did not respond.
Provincial Breakdown: Respondents from Punjab (41%) most likely to claim that TV news very often favors the governing party in Pakistan’s elections
12% from Balochistan said that TV news very often favors the governing party in Pakistan’s elections; 33% from KP, 41% from Punjab and 24% from Sindh.
