According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 59% Pakistanis say there is a very high chance that they will vote on Election Day.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women (18 years or 18+) from across the four provinces was asked. What are the chances that you will go to vote on Election Day? Responding to this, 59% said very high chanc, 28% said somewhat chance and 12% said no chance at all. However, 1% did not give a response.
Comparing between urban and rural respondents, more rural respondents said there is a very high chance they would vote on Election Day (64%) than urban respondents (49%). This is consistent with turnout rates in Pakistan’s previous 9 elections where turnout in rural areas was higher than turnout in urban areas.
