According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 46% Pakistanis think the current government should conduct local government elections as soon as possible; 21% say there is no need for such elections.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from urban and rural areas across the four provinces was asked. Some people think the current government should conduct local government elections as soon as possible whereas others opine that the government should hold these elections in a few months’ time. Moreover, some believe there is no need for such elections. What is your opinion on this? Responding to this, 46% said the elections should be conducted as soon as possible, 25% said they should be conducted in a few months’ time whereas 21% said there should be no elections. 8% did not give a response.
