According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 36% Pakistanis think they know about most of the candidates contesting elections from their constituencies.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked. Do you know which candidates are contesting elections from your constituency? Responding to this, 36% said they know of most of the candidates, 44% said they know of some of the candidates and 20% said they do not know of any of the candidates.
A comparison between urban and rural localities shows that more rural respondents (41%) know about most of the candidates from their constituencies as opposed to urban respondents (27%). Similarly, there is also a difference between results of men and women, with more men (44%) claiming they know about most of the candidates from the constituency as compared to women (26%).
